I simply love our youth!  They are amazing...

When my wife and I visited Egypt a few years ago, we were astounded and challenged by the work of the Bible Society in Egypt in terms of how they are seeking to pass on the faith to the next generation.

The stats are alarming.  Young people on the whole do not have an interest in what is perceived as ‘traditional Christianity,’  and you may have heard the expression of the rise of the 'nones,' referring to how young people display no religious affiliation.

But don't be deceived: that is not to say they are not interested in spiritual matters!  This young generation certainly has an interest in spiritual matters, but the offerings being put in front of them through social media makes it difficult for young people to discern between truth and error.

So, like the story of the boy throwing starfish into the sea, my wife and I decided we needed to be involved in some small way of passing on the faith to the next generation (having a teenage daughter helped😊).

We are a few that meet, but what a special group!  We enjoy a good time of social fellowship together, and then we get into God’s Word and allow space for questions galore.   We have addressed a large variety of issues during the course of our meetings and I am always amazed at the insight of these young people, and it is pretty much the highlight of my week.  My favourite activity which we try and do once a month is to serve a meal and we sit around the table and talk about whatever comes up!

Do not underestimate Gen Z – they are an incredible generation with a lot to offer: and they need the Lord.
